To begin with, Ethiopian food is eaten with friends and family. Even the way Ethiopian food is served — on a communal platter — is designed for sharing food with each other. Food is not meant to be eaten alone in the culture of Ethiopia.

Injera: is a fermented flatbread with a unique, slightly spongy texture. Traditionally made Injera is a fermented spongy flatbread made of Teff flour which is a staple food in Ethiopia. Teff is a grain that is native to Ethiopia and is naturally Gluten Free. Give Teff a try and you may find yourself performing like Ethiopian long-distance runners!

Wot: is an Ethiopian stew or curry that may be prepared with chicken, beef, lamb, legumes, a variety of vegetables, spice mixtures such as berbere, and a seasoned clarified butter (nitter Kibbeh).

Berbere: This is an Ethiopian chili powder that is central to Ethiopian cooking. It is known to be fiery hot and full of complex flavor.
